Ren (he/they) is a writer and film curator whose practice embraces experimental works and artists’ moving image exploring the interstices of political, disruptive, and liminal identities. His writing has appeared in various art and film magazines including ArtReview, Hyperallergic, MUBI Notebook, and Sight and Sound. Ren was Head of Programme at Encounters Film Festival (2021 – 2023) and has curated programmes for national and international art centres and festivals, including the Barbican, Filmfest Dresden, and Short Waves. Ren is a Trustee of Alchemy Film & Arts and a preselector for shorts at Festival du Nouveau Cinéma.
