Here at GSFF we’re incredibly excited to present the new Scottish Short Film Award Sponsor for our 10th edition, Blazing Griffin!

“Short form screen content is a vitally important part of developing both filmmakers and the industry, and so we are delighted to be supporting Scottish new talent by sponsoring the Scottish Short Film Award at GSFF.”  Blazing Griffin

Blazing Griffin is an independent company with offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, working across film production, game development, and post-production, and with a focus on working with upcoming Scottish talent. Before GSFF17 kicks off, we’re taking the opportunity to put them in the spotlight and express our gratitude for their vote of confidence. Thanks to their generous support, the winner of the Award will receive a cash prize of £1,500.

“We’re particularly delighted to welcome Blazing Griffin as sponsor of the Scottish Short Film Award. This award celebrates the most exciting new film talent in Scotland, so it seems entirely fitting that the award is supported by one of Scotland’s most innovative and dynamic film and digital entertainment companies.” GSFF Director Matt Lloyd

The Blazing Griffin film department has recently completed principal photography on their first feature film, Anna and The Apocalypse, which stars Ella Hunt, Paul Kaye and Mark Benton. You can find more info on their website and keep an eye on updates via their Facebook and Twitter.

Their post-production wing offers offline edit suites, online suites, grading suites, workflow design & management, dailies processing, and archiving. Blazing Griffin also work with specialist industry partners to offer sound post-production, VFX and remote grading, and have a team of experienced in-house post-prod Supervisors and Coordinators. You can find out more about their services and facilities here

Their recent credits include OUTLANDER S1-3 (Sony Pictures TV/Leftbank Pictures/Starz), OUR GIRL S2 (BBC), THE ETRUSCAN SMILE, THE WIFE, SHETLAND S2-3 (ITV Studios/BBC), IONA, and WATERLOO ROAD S8-10 (Shed Productions/Headstrong Pictures/BBC).

In addition to their presence as our Award sponsor, Blazing Griffin will contribute to our GSFF Production Attic Short Film Pitch on Friday 17 March (12.45) in CCA Theatre. Alongside other panel members, BG producer Nicolas Crum will offer feedback on pitches for short film projects which were selected in advance from applications sent in to GSFF. Click here for further details

We are infinitely grateful for Blazing Griffin for their support. If you see one of them around at GSFF17, make sure to give them a big hug!
