Film Hub Scotland New Promoters Scheme
Do you have a passion for film? Would you like to gain paid experience in film exhibition? Then the Film Hub Scotland New Promoters Scheme could be for you.
Film Hub Scotland is offering an exciting training opportunity for people who’d like to better understand how to programme films for audiences in Scotland through the New Promoters scheme. This role aims to increase the number of film programmers from underrepresented communities and backgrounds working for cinemas, festivals and venues within Scotland. This includes those marginalised due to race, gender, sexuality, age, class, and disability. This comes from a recognition that these identities are not adequately represented within the Scottish screen industry.
This scheme will be hosted by three organisations, including Glasgow Short Film Festival as well as Glasgow Film Festival and CCA Glasgow. You will have the opportunity to meet and engage with others taking part in the scheme.
GSFF employment dates will be from 18 November 2019 – 27 March 2020. The post is part-time – 44 days in total over the specified period – and paid living wage.
The role will be office based and you will be supported to programme films and create events, learn about filmmakers and distributor liaisons, screening formats, venue coordination, audience development and event marketing.
In addition to this Film Hub Scotland will provide training from film industry experts in selecting and showing films, creating and running events, organising festivals and marketing.
