Submissions

The 18th edition of Glasgow Short Film Festival will take place 19-23 March 2025. GSFF competitions are comprised of submitted films, and other elements of the festival programme also draw from submissions. More information on our competitions, and the films screened in 2024, can be found on the Programme page. Our programming team eagerly trawls through thousands of submissions each year to showcase the most exciting work from around the world. 

The call for entries for the 2025 Young Scottish Filmmaker Prize is now open!
For filmmakers resident in Scotland and aged between 18 and 25, this award is presented by Glasgow Film Theatre and Eden Court Highlands. The prize has been launched in partnership with the Glasgow Short Film Festival and was designed in consultation with GMAC Film.The Young Scottish Filmmakers Prize is part of BFI Film Academy Scene, supported by the National Lottery.

Glasgow Short Film Festival is a BAFTA-qualifying event. All British films screened at GSFF automatically become eligible for BAFTA Short Film or Short Animation Award consideration, as long as they meet other eligibility criteria.
