Rong He (she/her) is a documentary filmmaker and researcher based in Glasgow. She has 12 years’ experience teaching film in China and is currently developing a practice-based project at the University of Glasgow with a cross-cultural Ukrainian refugee family living in Sweden, exploring social media self-presentation and identity negotiation in contexts of migration. Her earlier work focuses on the everyday lives of marginalised communities in Northern China, and she remains interested in documentary “authenticity” and narrative experimentation across independent shorts and documentaries.
