The most vital new international cinema is showcased in the six programmes of the Bill Douglas Award for International Short Film, celebrating honesty, formal innovation and the supremacy of image and sound in cinematic storytelling. Viewers have the opportunity to choose their favourite to win the Audience Award.

A barber shop, a beach and a bus stop: all serve as places of refuge. All communities need somewhere they can present their true selves in plain view. 

Each film will be followed by a short Q&A with the director.
