A second programme considering cityscapes and how they are shaped, exploited and reclaimed. From the idealised architect's dream of Brasilia to the devastation wrought by the Chernobyl disaster on Pripyat, the focus turns to cities made abstract by the absence of people. Rooted in this programme is the conviction that we should all have right to the city, right to determine and be its futures. To shape them as open platforms for co-existence.

Please note that at the request of the filmmaker, Vacancy is not captioned.

Brasilia, "the ultimate utopia of 20th century" (Umberto Eco), is now a museum kept alive by its staff only.

Serial Parallels

Hong Kong's signature architecture reimagined as parallel rows of film strips.

Pripyat Piano

Radioactive pianos tell the story of the Chernobyl disaster in their own unique way.

Buried in Light

Somewhere in the forests of the sub-conscious, a sleepwalker journeys through the remains of a lost city.

The best city is no city at all

An abandoned wooden church is relocated to the outskirts of an urban expansion area for cultural interim usage.
