Festival Team


Matt Lloyd | Festival Director

Matt has worked in film exhibition in Scotland for two decades. He was short film programmer of Edinburgh International Film Festival from 2004 to 2008 and has been involved in programming or producing several Scottish film festivals including two Highland events with Mark Cousins and Tilda Swinton. Matt has directed GSFF since the 2010 edition.


Sanne Jehoul | Festival Co-Director

Sanne joined GSFF in 2014. She is also a programmer and producer of Document Human Rights Film Festival. She freelances as a writer, conversation host and curator, and has previous experience in broadcast production and script development. Sanne has worked in arts and media in her home country Belgium as well as China and the Basque Country, and has been mostly Glasgow-based since 2010. She sits on the advisory board of Femspectives, a feminist film festival in Glasgow. @sanne_jehoul


Sara Shaarawi | Guest Coordinator

Sara is a freelance arts practitioner, producer and playwright from Cairo, and has been based in Glasgow since 2014. In the last couple of years she has worked for Africa in Motion Film Festival and is now on the board of Document Human Rights Film Festival. In 2017 she project managed the Arab Arts Focus showcase at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and often hosts music and spoken word nights in the Southside of Glasgow.


Stuart Elliott | Submissions Viewer

Stuart is a multi-award winning short film and commercials director, working with clients such as Irn-Bru and Aldi. His film The Pedestrian won the inaugural audience award at GSFF in 2011. His work has been screened at film festivals all over the world and racked up millions of hits on YouTube.

Oriana Franceschi | Submissions Viewer

Oriana has worked for Glasgow Film Festival, An Lanntair, Tyneside Cinema, Sheffield Doc/Fest and Cinema For All. Oriana has an MA in Film Journalism from the University of Glasgow and in 2014 was one of eight emerging film journalists selected for the Berlinale Talents programme. 


Tony Harris | Submissions Viewer

Tony has worked in cinemas for many years and has also worked as Volunteer Coordinator for both Glasgow Short Film Festival and Glasgow Film Festival for the last three years. He has also worked for Document Human Rights Film Festival and Piping Live!

Marcus Jack | Submissions Viewer

Marcus is an independent curator. He is an AHRC PhD candidate at the Glasgow School of Art, researching the history of artists’ moving image in Scotland. In 2015 he founded Transit Arts, and has developed screenings in partnership with ATLAS, CCA Glasgow, Goethe-Institut, Scottish Contemporary Art Network, and Tyneside Cinema.


Nosheen Khwaja | Submissions Viewer

Glasgow School of Art alumnus Nosheen is a practising artist and designer. She co-founded the film training course Digital Desperados, and was artistic director of GLITCH Film Festival, the first LGBTIQA+ people of colour focused festival in the UK. Nosheen has curated screenings, shown artwork and performed in Hamburg, Berlin, Amsterdam, Montreal, New York and the UK. 


Sandra Kinahan | Submissions Viewer

Sandra was GSFF18's Festival Assistant and has continued working with the festival as a submissions viewer. She is now working across marketing and sales in Park Circus, a film distribution company headquartered in Glasgow, where she works with exhibitors internationally. 


Paul Macgregor | Submissions Viewer

Paul is a freelance Producer/Director who has worked for the BBC, STV, Channel 4 and various indies across the UK. Before moving into television, Paul worked in film distribution and as a programmer for the Glasgow Film Theatre. He represented GFT abroad at Queer Lisboa, Motovun Film Festival and Manaus Film Festival in Brazil. 


Errika Zacharopoulou | Submissions Viewer

Errika is a freelance filmmaker and photographer, having studied at the University of York, Central Saint Martins, and the University of Glasgow. Errika has worked with Sundance London and International Film Festival of Patmos in Greece and produced two short documentaries for YON Magazine and Omili Clothing.
